26日，“第73屆聯合國大(dà)會防治結核病問題高級别會議”在紐約舉行。國家主席習近平夫人、“世界衛生(shēng)組織結核病和艾滋病防治親善大(dà)使”彭麗媛應邀作爲抗擊結核病傑出人士代表在會議開(kāi)幕式上發表視頻(pín)講話(huà)。

　　彭麗媛和現場參會者分(fēn)享了擔任世界衛生(shēng)組織結核病和艾滋病防治親善大(dà)使和中(zhōng)國結核病防治形象大(dà)使十多年來的經曆和感受，介紹了中(zhōng)國結核病防治工(gōng)作人員(yuán)和義務宣傳員(yuán)們紮根基層、默默無聞、無私奉獻的感人事迹。

　　彭麗媛強調，正是由于中(zhōng)國政府和社會各界的關愛和重視，包括70萬志(zhì)願者的熱心參與，中(zhōng)國結核病防治工(gōng)作近年來快速發展，廣大(dà)患者正獲得更加及時有效的診斷和治療，結核病防治在一(yī)些地區正成爲脫貧攻堅工(gōng)作的一(yī)項重要内容，結核病患者發現率和治愈率不斷提高，發病率和死亡率持續下(xià)降，很多人因此重獲新生(shēng)。中(zhōng)國全民結核病防治知(zhī)識知(zhī)曉率達到了75%以上。

　　彭麗媛表示，在各國政府、國際組織、非政府組織、專家和志(zhì)願者共同努力下(xià)，全球結核病防治工(gōng)作取得了重要成就，但人類在防治結核病方面仍面臨嚴峻挑戰。世界衛生(shēng)組織已通過《遏制結核病戰略》，各國應攜起手來，爲改變千百萬受結核病影響的人們的生(shēng)活、爲終結結核病流行竭盡全力。

　　會議由本屆聯大(dà)主席埃斯皮諾薩主持，通過了《關于防治結核病問題的政治宣言》。

親愛的朋友們，我(wǒ)是世界衛生(shēng)組織結核病和艾滋病防治親善大(dà)使彭麗媛。祝賀本次高級别會議的召開(kāi)，并向大(dà)家問好。

I became China’s Ambassador for TB in 2007, and the Goodwill Ambassador in 2011. It is a mission and responsibility I cherish dearly. For more than ten years, every year on March 24th, I’ve visited communities with high TB prevalence to help raise awareness, change behavior and encourage actions.

我(wǒ)在2007年成爲中(zhōng)國結核病防治形象大(dà)使，在2011年成爲親善大(dà)使。這是我(wǒ)珍視的使命和責任。十多年來，每年的3月24日，我(wǒ)都會走訪結核病高發的社區，以提高人們的認識，改變行爲，鼓勵人們采取行動。

This year, I went to Hubei in central China. I shared with teenage students important TB-related knowledge, and ways to lead a healthy lifestyle and taught young children the importance of good personal hygiene. In a local village, I met a fully-recovered patient. I encouraged him to become a TB campaigner himself, so that he can share his experience of fighting the disease with more people.

今年我(wǒ)去(qù)了中(zhōng)國中(zhōng)部的湖北(běi)。我(wǒ)和十幾歲的學生(shēng)分(fēn)享了重要的結核病相關知(zhī)識以及保持健康生(shēng)活方式的方法，同時告訴孩子們保持良好個人衛生(shēng)的重要性。在當地的村(cūn)子裏，我(wǒ)遇到了一(yī)位完全康複的病人。我(wǒ)鼓勵他自己成爲一(yī)名防治結核病的宣傳員(yuán)，這樣他就可以和更多的人分(fēn)享抗擊結核病的經驗。

On this trip, I also attended a ceremony to recognize outstanding TB campaigners. Most of them work at the grassroots and have great stories to share.

在這次旅行中(zhōng)，我(wǒ)還參加了一(yī)個表彰優秀結核病防治人員(yuán)的儀式。他們中(zhōng)的大(dà)多數在基層工(gōng)作，有很多精彩的故事可以分(fēn)享。

Let me tell you about Shili. She is a community health worker from Sichuan. One of her many tasks is to look after local TB patients. When the massive earthquake struck Sichuan in 2008, her hometown was among the hardest-hit. Despite the damage, she managed to re-establish direct contact with every one of the 540 patients under her watch. She walked mile after mile amidst deadly aftershocks to reach her patients and she spent some 20 days delivering drugs to those cut off from medication. As a doctor, she knew too well the importance of completing the drug regimen for TB patients. Her efforts paid off. All the 540 patients had fully recovered, with no single patient developing into MDR. What an impressive achievement!

I also wish to thank the media and our active supporters. Together with more than 700,000 volunteers in China’s TB programs, we have helped promote awareness, provide valuable knowledge and improve understanding of TB to more than 75% of the population. Lives have been saved as a result.

我(wǒ)還要感謝媒體(tǐ)和所有積極支持者。我(wǒ)們與中(zhōng)國結核病項目中(zhōng)的70多萬名結核病志(zhì)願者一(yī)起共同努力，幫助提高了75%以上人口對結核病的認識，爲他們提供了寶貴的知(zhī)識，提高了他們對結核病的了解。其結果是拯救了生(shēng)命。

I myself stand witness to the rapid progress of TB programs in China. Thanks to better medical service, we can offer more timely and effective diagnosis and treatment. In some areas, fighting TB is now an important part of the poverty reduction programs. Case detection rate increases, more patients are cured, and the incidence and mortality continue to drop.

我(wǒ)本人見證了中(zhōng)國結核病項目的快速發展。由于更好的醫療服務，我(wǒ)們可以提供更及時有效的診斷和治療。在一(yī)些地區，防治結核病現在是減貧計劃的重要組成部分(fēn)。病例檢出率增加，更多患者得到治愈，發病率和死亡率繼續下(xià)降。

When I visit foreign countries, I also try to make the local TB situation part of my agenda. I am so happy to see that more patients are getting the help they need. It is the united effort of governments, international organizations, NGOs, experts and volunteers that has made this possible.

當我(wǒ)在國外(wài)進行訪問時，我(wǒ)也試圖将當地結核病的情況列入我(wǒ)的議程。我(wǒ)很高興看到更多的病人得到了他們需要的幫助。正是各國政府、國際組織、非政府組織、專家和志(zhì)願者的共同努力使改變成爲可能。

However, daunting challenges remain. MDR is still a major threat. Limited ways of treatment and insufficient funding are still the problems we face globally.

The WHO has adopted the “End TB Strategy”. Now is the time to act.
